Volunteer Guidelines
We meet at our designated worksite at 7:45 a.m. Construction activities should be complete by 3 p.m. When you arrive at the site, each one of the volunteers will need to sign in and get a nametag.
Under the direction of qualified Construction Leaders, volunteers will participate in framing, vinyl or Hardiboard siding installation, painting, trim carpentry, cabinet installation, landscaping and cleanup on the home construction site.
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted on the construction site.
Wear comfortable work clothes and sturdy shoes ( no sandals ). A hat, sunscreen and lightweight raincoat or rain poncho may be needed. In the event of inclement weather, work may be delayed or cancelled, but we ask scheduled groups to report to the job site for verification from the Construction Superintendent.
Drinking water will be provided at each worksite throughout the day, volunteers will need to bring their own bag lunch to the worksite, coolers will be available if something needs to be kept cool.
Safety instructions will be explained in the morning. For serious injury, call 911 and immediately and report to Habitat personnel.
