TWO NEW EMPLOYEES JOIN HABITAT

Karen Hunsicker is the Volunteer Coordinator for our affiliate. She taught Pre-K for the Ancient City Baptist Church and has worked with nonprofit agencies including the Council on Aging where she managed senior centers in St. Augustine, Orangedale and Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley.

She served on the Board of Directors for UF Family and Consumer Science and Learn to Read, chairing the "Kiss the Pig" fundraiser this year. Karen's husband Bill and their son Billy run the family business Endless Summer Charters out of the Conch House Marina. Daughter Kristy graduated from the University of North Florida this April. Suzanne Burkett has taken the part-time position of Office Manager of our affiliate. After leaving a teaching position in Dade County, she ran the Miami district office of Congressman Bill Lehman of Florida. Since that time she worked for the U.S. Congress in various capacities in Washington, D. C. Suzanne has a B.A. in Government, and M.A. in Politics and Public Affairs and a law degree. She is a member of The Florida Bar and The District of Columbia Bar Associations. Her husband, William B. Burkett, is an attorney in the Office of the General Counsel in Jacksonville. They reside in St.Augustine.
